 ICT as Situating Tool

Situating tool are systems application which situate user in an environment where they may experience the content and happening.

Situating tool are VR (Virtual realities), 3D computer simulated images, experiential learning environment and simulation instructional games.

Situating tool provide students to conceptualize the ideas of the real world by integrating the theories in the practical application of real world situations. Such as Graphic and GeoGebra.

 We need to integrate situating tool in the classroom because:

1. It situates user in the environment

2. Comprehend and manipulate variables

3.Communicate with other users login (online game using social media -Facebook)

Situating tool should also be used in teaching and learning as it:

1. Experience of virtue reality environment using Google Earth of the visiting place and knowing anout the world.

2. Calculate the distance of the place using Google Earth.

3. Using educational software such as GraphCalc and GeoGebra for predicating and variables for generating the graphs.

  Coogle  is a  freeware   mind mapping   web application . Coogle produces hierarchically structured documents, like a branching tree. This contrasts with other collaborative editors, like  Google Docs , which provide either  linear  (text document), or tabular (spreadsheet)  document formats .  Coogle challenges students to organize their ideas visually while also promoting collaboration among students and teachers. These features help students discover important connections that can lead to a better understanding of content.
